“So I went independent because I want to face my fans honestly. There is no lie in those emotions. Even if it’s a sad story, I just want to be able to say that. Because I’ve gotten some really mean e-mails too. Like, ‘Are your fans just a way to make money to you?’ And I just want to say, I have never once asked for a raise, or begged to live in a really nice place. (LOL) It’s just…it makes me really sad. And so it made me think, ‘Artists and fans are a mirror.’ They reflect each other’s hearts. If you’re that kind of person, then that’s how I’ll look to you. I thought, ‘Oh, maybe artists are just a reflection of other people.’ Including how they’re percieved. It made me think that maybe those kind of opinions came out because there was a part of me that didn’t believe in my fans enough.” (c) 雅-miyavi-”
